We are on a mission to make sure all Connecticut residents have health and dental coverage. All health plans offered through Access Health CT include coverage for important Essential Health Benefits to keep you and your family healthy. You can also get a Stand-Alone Dental Plan (SADP) through Access Health CT.

Why Access Health CT?

Access Health CT is Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace, where you can shop, compare and enroll in quality health and dental plans. It is also the only place where you can qualify for financial help to lower your costs, and if eligible, enroll in no-or low-cost coverage through HUSKY Health Programs (Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)) or the Covered CT Program.

Open Enrollment Period

During the annual Open Enrollment Period (starting November 1), you can shop, compare and enroll in quality health and/or dental coverage.

Current customers should update household information and look at health and/or dental plan options that fit their needs for the following year.

You can also Compare Plans or Sign In.

Easy steps to get you coverage.

1. Compare plans

Review plan options to find the right one for you. Enter your information to see if you qualify for financial help.

2. Gather documents

Use the Enrollment Checklist to have all your information ready for you and anyone in your household applying for coverage.

3. Start application

Create an account online, over the phone, with an Enrollment Specialist, or a Certified Broker who can recommend a plan.

4. Verify information

If requested, verify your information and let us know if anything changes during the year.

Choosing the right plan for you

Looking at your healthcare options can be overwhelming. The Plan Compare tool makes it easy to filter plans based on in-network doctors and prescriptions to give you a better total cost estimate. If you need someone to help recommend a plan, you can find a Broker in your area for free help.

Understanding total cost estimate

When choosing a plan, take into account costs beyond your monthly payment (premium). Consider your yearly deductible, co-payments or co-insurance costs when choosing the right coverage. Plans with the lowest monthly premium are not always the cheapest option for you and your family.

Metal levels and types of coverage

The marketplace offers Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) through Anthem, ConnectiCare Insurance Company, Inc. and ConnectiCare Benefits, Inc. Plans are categorized by metal levels. Bronze has the lowest premiums, but higher costs when you get care; Silver has moderate premiums, and moderate costs when you need care (most customers pick a Silver-level plan to take advantage of all the financial help available); Gold has higher premiums, but lower costs when you get care.  You may also qualify for no- or low-cost coverage through HUSKY Health (Medicaid/CHIP) or the Covered CT Program if you meet specific income or other guidelines.

See if you qualify for financial help

Most customers qualify for some type of financial help. And now, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has made more financial help available through Access Health CT for residents at virtually every income level. Connecticut residents who purchase health insurance through Access Health CT will continue to receive enhanced subsidies to help pay for the cost of their monthly health insurance payments, thanks to the IRA. This financial help is now extended through Plan Year 2025.

You can enter some basic information about your household to see if you qualify for Advance Premium Tax Credits (APTCs), Cost-Sharing Reductions (CSRs) or no- or low-cost coverage through HUSKY Health (Medicaid/CHIP) or the Covered CT Program.
