Open Enrollment is the time of year to renew or change your health and dental insurance through Access Health CT. This year, Open Enrollment begins on October 23, 2026, and ends on January 15, 2027.
If you’re enrolled in HUSKY Health coverage, you have a different renewal process. Visit the CT Department of Social Services’ website (opens in a new window) for details on how to renew your HUSKY Health coverage.
The renewal process
You’ll get a letter with information about your renewal before Open Enrollment begins. This letter will let you know if your health or dental plan will still be available next year. It will also show what you can expect to pay each month for your insurance (your monthly premium). The letter will explain if you need to do something before you can renew. For example, you may need to pick a new plan if the one you have is no longer available. You’ll also need to make sure your household income and information is still accurate.
If you’re eligible for automatic renewal, you will receive another notice when your renewal has been processed. If your premium changed, be sure to update any automatic payments you already have set up.
What if I’m not eligible for automatic renewal?
If you are not able to renew automatically, you need to re-enroll during Open Enrollment. You must complete this process by December 15 for your insurance to start on January 1. If you enroll between December 16 and January 15, your insurance will start on February 1.
Don’t worry, Access Health CT will notify you and send instructions to help you renew.
Compare Plans
We always encourage you to take another look at the plans available each year. You might find that a different plan is better for your needs or saves you money. You can also double-check that your plan networks include specific doctors in the networks or cover your prescriptions. Shopping your plan options will help ensure that you have the right insurance for the upcoming year. Click “Compare Plans,” enter some basic information and start comparing.
Help is available, and it’s always free
A Certified Broker is an excellent resource if you have questions or need help comparing plans. Certified Brokers are knowledgeable about changes to plans and the enrollment process. They can also talk confidentially about your specific situation or needs and help you select the best plan for you and your family.
Of course, we’re also available to answer any questions. You can make an appointment with an Enrollment Specialist for personalized help.
