Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can help your neighbors and improve the health and well-being of your community?
If so, the Access Health CT Broker Academy Program may be for you.
The Program provides free training to become a licensed insurance broker. As a Certified Broker, you’ll help your neighbors and community members understand their health and dental coverage options. You will guide them through the enrollment process and help them sign up for coverage that’s right for them. You’ll be helping them stay healthy, improving the well-being of your community and earning a commission. You can make a living while making a difference!
How we can help
Access Health CT created the Program to help everyone in Connecticut have access to quality health and dental coverage. In areas with high uninsured rates, many people don’t know about their coverage options and the financial help available to them. Others might not feel comfortable seeking help. That’s where you come in. You know your community best. You know the unique challenges your neighbors may be facing. You can help address the concerns they may have about getting and using health coverage.
We can help give you the tools and skills you need to reach these people. You can provide them with accurate information as you help them enroll in the coverage they need to stay healthy.
How does the Program work?
Each year, Access Health CT selects applicants from across the state for the Broker Academy Program.
- The Program begins with self-study. As you complete the required Kaplan modules, you’ll learn all about becoming an insurance broker. These lessons will help you pass the state licensing exam. As you study and learn, Access Health CT will check in with you on your progress and make sure you know the Program requirements.
- As you get closer to the state licensing exam date, you’ll take part in in-person classes. These classes will help you study for the exam. You’ll also get an opportunity to meet and talk with guest speakers and experienced brokers.
- Once you pass the state licensing exam and receive your broker license, you’ll be matched with an experienced broker-mentor. This mentor will offer you hands-on experience and professional guidance to prepare you for your new career.
The Broker Academy Program will cover the cost of your training and licensing. You’ll be guided through the process step-by-step, so you can begin helping others!
