If you’re enrolled in health or dental coverage through Access Health CT, you can renew your coverage during Open Enrollment beginning November 1. Renewing your coverage during Open Enrollment is the best way to ensure you will continue to have the coverage you and your family need.
If you’re enrolled in HUSKY Health coverage, you have a different renewal process. Visit the CT Department of Social Services’ website for details on how to renew your HUSKY Health coverage.
The renewal process
You should receive a renewal notice with information about your renewal in October. Even if nothing has changed and you want to keep the same health or dental plan, you need to re-enroll during Open Enrollment. You must complete this process by December 15 for coverage beginning January 1 or enroll by January 15 for coverage beginning February 1. You will also need to make sure your household information is up-to-date and accurate.
Your initial renewal notice will explain what you need to do and if you’re eligible to renew your coverage automatically. It will also explain what to do if you need to take any action to renew your coverage. For example, you may need to make updates to your application such as updating your household income or mailing address.
Automatic Renewal
If your household information has stayed the same, you may be eligible for automatic renewal. Eligible customers will receive another renewal notice in November. This notice will confirm that your automatic renewal for 2026 has been processed. It will also include details of your health or dental policy and premium(s) for the coming year. The amount you need to pay each month may change, so be sure to review all the information provided so you can pay your premium(s) and keep your coverage.
What if I’m not eligible for automatic renewal?
If your household information has changed, or there isn’t a plan option similar to your current coverage, you may not be eligible for automatic renewal. You will need to take action to keep your health or dental coverage. Don’t worry, Access Health CT will notify you in November with instructions on renewing your coverage.
